UPDATE: Woman missing from Jefferson Twp. has been found dead, deputies say

An 82-year-old woman who was last seen in Jefferson Twp. Friday morning has been found dead, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office had issued a missing adult alert Friday for Joella Apsher, who initially was last seen around 9:30 a.m. in the 4700 block of Weaver Road.

“The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office regrets to report that 82-year-old Joella Apsher, who was reported missing earlier today, has been found during the search,” Christine Bevins, a spokesperson for MCSO said. “While she could not be brought home safely, our hearts are with her family during this very difficult time.”

Jefferson Twp. Fire Department, Farmersville Fire Department, Eye in the Sky Drone Animal Recovery, EquuSearch, Ohio LandSAR, The SAR Sheps Search and Rescue, Box 21, Jackson Twp. Police Department, German Twp. Police Department, Germantown Police Department, Five Rivers Metroparks, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and other local businesses provided assistance in the search, Bevins said.

“We deeply appreciate the concern shown and ask that her family and loved ones be given privacy during this difficult time,” she said.
